Should I repair or replace my air conditioner?

That depends on several factors including the age of your unit, the cost of repairs, and its overall condition. During our full system diagnostic, we'll provide an honest assessment and upfront repair quote. If replacement makes more sense, we'll discuss your options. Most units under 10 years old are worth repairing.

What does a full AC repair diagnostic include?

Our technician performs a comprehensive inspection: checking refrigerant levels and pressure, testing electrical connections and capacitors, inspecting the compressor and condenser coil, checking airflow and ductwork, testing the thermostat, and verifying safety controls. We identify the problem, explain it in plain language, and provide pricing before starting any work.

Local detail

The most common AC failure in Bergen County is also the cheapest: a failed run capacitor, which presents as a unit that hums but will not start. It is worth ruling out before anyone discusses a compressor. Low refrigerant is the other frequent finding, and it is worth knowing that refrigerant does not get used up - if a system is low, it is leaking, and recharging without finding the leak just defers the same call. We serve Westwood, Emerson, Hillsdale, River Vale, Washington Township, Woodcliff Lake, Park Ridge, Montvale, Paramus, Ridgewood, Oradell, Closter, Demarest, Dumont, Haworth, Harrington Park, Northvale, Norwood and Old Tappan.
